Out-of-School Field Trips

Bring your youth group to the History Colorado Center! Perfect for organizations that provide child care for students during school breaks.

  • Student (Pre-K-12th grade): $5

  • Adult Chaperone: Free *

  • Extra Adult: $8*

*1:10 ratio for chaperones required; 1 free chaperone per 10 kids; extra adults $8 each.

Self-guided tours are available each hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. All out-of-school field trips during 2021 will be self-guided.

Guided Group Tours

Join our experienced guides for an hour-long overview of the History Colorado Center. Then stay and self-guide as long as you like. Tours are also available in Spanish.

Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance and are for groups of ten or more paid admissions. Subject to guide availability. Capacity for guided tours is 20 people per guide.

 

Exclusive Access Guided Tour Package

These packages provide exclusive access to our museum before we open to the public. Tour Zoom In: The Centennial State in 100 Objects for a broad sampling of the stories in Colorado’s varied history, or learn about the original inhabitants of the state with a tour of Written on the Land: Ute Voices, Ute History. With either option, you will receive a private tour led by an exhibit developer, a meet and greet time with your guide, access to explore the rest of our exhibits on your own after the private tour concludes, and more.

Package Contents:

  • Access to the museum before opening hours 

  • Catered pastries and coffee during a meet and greet with an exhibit developer

  • Exclusive exhibit tour with one of the exhibit’s developers

  • Full museum access to self-explore the rest of our exhibits 

  • A $15 voucher for lunch in our Rendezvous Cafe

Cost: $50.00 per person; 10 person minimum | 20 person maximum

Group Sales FAQs

Q. Where can we park if we arrive by individual cars?

Parking meters and surface parking lots are available in the blocks surrounding the History Colorado Center. Covered parking is available at the Art Garage, adjacent to the former Art Institute of Colorado building on 12th and Lincoln. Parking is NOT available in the covered lot right next to the museum. Q. Where can we park if we arrive by bus?

Bus loading and unloading is available on 12th Avenue and buses can be parked for free on Broadway between Colfax and 14th Avenue. Click here for a bus parking map.
 

Q. Do you have a lunchroom?

We have a few small tables on the 3rd floor mezzanine that can accommodate smaller groups. For larger groups, we have a large outdoor space with a few tables and chairs and also some boulders that guests can sit on. All seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are part of an out of school field trip, please contact our reservations coordinator
 

Q. Do you have a restaurant or cafe?

The Rendezvous Cafe is open daily from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and offers both indoor and outdoor seating on a first-come, first-served basis. For questions about their menu options, please call 303-866-3531.

Q. Do you have a storage area for coats and backpacks?

We have a coat room located in our Atrium that contains coat racks and both small and large lockers for visitors. The small lockers require a quarter to lock, but once you return the key, you will get your quarter back. You can check out the large lockers from the front desk with a valid ID. History Colorado is not responsible for items left in the coat room.
