Group Sales FAQs

Where can we park if we arrive by individual cars?

Parking meters and surface parking lots are available in the blocks surrounding the History Colorado Center. Covered parking is available at the Art Garage, adjacent to the former Art Institute of Colorado building on 12th and Lincoln. Parking is NOT available in the covered lot right next to the museum. Click here to learn more about accessibility. We do not validate parking.

Where can we park if we arrive by bus?

Bus loading and unloading is available on 12th Avenue and buses can be parked for free on Broadway between Colfax and 14th Avenue. Click here for a bus parking map.

Do you have a restaurant or cafe?

The Rendezvous Cafe is open daily from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and offers both indoor and outdoor seating on a first-come, first-served basis. For questions about their menu options, please call 303-866-3531.

Can we bring our own lunches?

Yes, you are welcome to bring lunches with you, but we require that you leave them in your vehicle or in our coat room while exploring the museum.

Do you have a lunchroom?

We have a few small tables on the 3rd floor mezzanine that can accommodate smaller groups on a first-come, first-served basis. For larger groups, we have an outdoor space with boulders to sit on.

If you are part of a K-12 school field trip, please book a school field trip to request the Camp Colorado lunchroom.

Do you offer room rental or catering services?

Yes! Click here to learn more about our catering and event options

Do you have a storage area for coats and backpacks?

We have a coat room located in our Atrium that contains coat racks and both small and large lockers for visitors. The small lockers require a quarter to lock, but once you return the key, you will get your quarter back. You can check out the keys for the large lockers from the front desk with a valid ID. History Colorado is not responsible for items left in the coat room.

Can you accommodate groups with wheelchairs or other mobility aids?

Yes, both guided tours and self-guided visits can accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility aids. Click here to learn more about accessibility at the History Colorado Center.

Does Kids Free Admission apply to groups?

Kids Free Admission applies to kids who are visiting in individual family units (or similarly small group sizes). It does not apply to school field trips, after-school enrichment programs, school-break camps, or child-care organizations. These groups should book a school field trip so we can manage capacity in our building and ensure that we have proper staffing to support each group.

For groups that want to visit on a weekend or late afternoon, please email reservations@state.co.us to schedule your visit.

How can I request a guest speaker for my group?

History Colorado is able to fulfill guest speaker requests for both onsite and offsite groups if we have the required staff availability and expertise. Guest speakers charge a base rate of $200 for an hour-long presentation, and additional fees may apply. To inquire about getting a guest speaker for your group, please email reservations@state.co.us.
