Bethel Church of God in Christ

Denver County

Constructed in 1920, the one-story brick building is an example of the simple architectural design typically found in a Pentecostal church design.

However, the Romanesque Revival style windows and crenellated parapet reminiscent of the Gothic Revival or Tudor Revival styles creates more architectural interest.  The church was built in a record forty days by members of the congregation along with African American, Anglo-American, and Hispanic members of the community working together.  Located near the heart of the city, the church continues to serve a diverse community.
