The Donald C. McMillan Farm near Lamar was homesteaded in 1876 by James Madison McMillan. The farm today consists of 2000 acres of which 220 are irrigated. Donald Higby and his wife McSherry currently grow wheat, barley, grain, sorghum, mellons, alfalfa and grass and run a small commercial cow-calf herd.
