Elson Bridge (New Location)
Pueblo County
Originally crossing the Purgatoire River in Las Animas County, in 1993, the 150-foot span faced demolition due to its deteriorating condition and low load capacity.
Circa 1994, as part of the Colorado Department of Highway’s Adopt-a-Bridge program, the Pueblo Bridge Company’s 1905 pin-connected Pratt through truss structure was dismantled, transported, and subsequently reassembled for use as a pedestrian bridge along the Runyon Commuter Trail in Pueblo.
