Holzwarth Historic District

Grand County

In 1917, the Holzwarths established their homestead claim.  In 1919, the Holzwarth Ranch began operations as a guest ranch.  There are a number of guest cabins, a taxidermy shop, a wood shed, and an icehouse that were constructed in the years between circa 1902 and 1944.

Holzwarth Historic District 

Most were designed by J. Holzwarth.  In 1974, the homestead was purchased by the Nature Conservancy, and in 1975 ownership was transferred to the National Park Service.  Listed under Rocky Mountain National Park and the Historic Park Landscapes in National and State Parks Resources Multiple Property Submissions.
