The Pueblo is one of the only fully excavated and interpreted Ancestral Puebloan great kivas (large, circular underground structures) accessible to the American public. Many of its nearly millennium-old structures still stand—but they are vulnerable to natural erosion over time.  The College of Architecture and Planning from the University of Colorado Denver is using an SHF grant to prepare an up-to-date documentation of the site. Using advanced digital technology, they will create 2-D plans and 3-D models of the existing structures, which will contribute to a comprehensive stabilization plan.
