A cross gabled bell tower tops the roof of this wood frame rural schoolhouse. The building’s current one-story configuration dates from 1912.
A single classroom was located at the east end of the building, and the teacher’s living quarters occupied the west end. The school continued in operation until 1939, and the property has been owned by the Salida Museum Association since 1977. The property is associated with the Rural School Buildings in Colorado Multiple Property Submission.
