The monument is a good example of a small park situated and embellished so as to provide a distinctive entryway to a residential neighborhood.
The designer of the circa 1900 park is not known; however, Harlan Thomas designed the monument itself. The property is associated with the Denver Park and Parkway System Thematic Resource.
