Rocking 7K Ranch

Prowers County

Alzada Karn came to the dry climate in Granada, Colorado from Ohio at the age of 17 to cure her TB. In 1886 she homesteaded 160 acres. Her future husband, George, would homestead adjoining land to grow the property. George was also the Granada Postmaster where he kept an Angelwing Begonia he had brought from Florida.

Six generations later, the Rocking 7K Ranch is still the hub of the family. And The Begonia still grows in the dining room with small holes in the ceiling where several branches go through to the second floor.

The large Rocking 7K Ranch family all in matching blue ranch t-shirts.
