Townsend House

Denver County

The Geddis and Seerie Stone Company built the Townsend House in 1892.  Primarily involved in large contracts, including the Brown Palace Hotel and various public buildings, the firm built few residences, and fewer yet still stand.

A view of the house from the front entrance with red-brick and tall rectangular windows on the second level, a large arched window on the bottom left and covered wrap-around porch on the bottom right.

Townsend House

Constructed of double-glazed red brick with sandstone accents and foundation, the house is an example of Denver’s architectural transition from Victorian era styles to the Neoclassical.
