Ypsilon Lake Trail
Larimer County
Completed in 1907, the 4.5-mile Ypsilon Lake Trail predates the establishment of Rocky Mountain National Park in 1915. The Estes Park Protective and Improvement Association likely established the current alignment to reach Ypsilon Lake.
The lake’s appeal rests in its clear, pleasant waters bounded on the northwest side by steep cliffs and on other sides by dense stands of trees. An alpine creek tumbles into the west end of the lake and Ypsilon Creek streams out of the east end. The property is associated with the Rocky Mountain National Park and the Historic Park Landscapes in National and State Parks Resources Multiple Property Submissions.
