The passenger car ran from 1881 to 1928. Although it has gone through a number of modifications and upgrades since coming into service, it maintains many of its original character-defining features.  A grant from SHF will help pay for the complete disassembly, inspection, restoration (including in-kind component replacements), and reassembly of the interior, exterior, and mechanical systems of the coach—retaining its historical appearance while rehabilitating all aspects of the car. After this project, Coach 292 will be ready to run the tracks as a passenger car once more—a true example of how preservation can foster a living connection to Colorado’s past.
