What: The National Western Stock Show is a modern day tradition with deep roots in Colorado’s history. In 1906, the first incorporated Western Stock Show was held and today, the show runs for 16 days in January. The show is known for being Colorado’s largest Western Trade Show, along with national recognition for its professional rodeos and livestock shows. History Colorado has a significant number of stock show artifacts in its collections and is finishing up the Who Knew!? series with these iconic objects. On January 5, a collection of Hermann Heiser saddle and chaps and a unique styled horn chair will be revealed. Hermann H. Heiser, a German immigrant, was a renowned leather worked who established the largest saddlery goods manufacturing company in the West.
