El Pueblo History Museum to host annual Ethnic Christmas Open House

PUEBLO, Colo. (Nov. 29, 2018) – To celebrate Pueblo’s varied ethnic heritages, El Pueblo History Museum invites the community to the annual Ethnic Christmas Open House on Friday, December 7 from 5 to 8 pm. This annual event is free and open to the public. Food will be provided, including traditional dishes of the various cultures of Pueblo: Mexican, Slovenian/Croatian, and Italian.

Entertainment for the evening will include Italian and American Christmas songs by Mark Oreskovich at 5:15 pm, polkas and holiday tunes by Alan Polivka at 6 pm, and a folklórico dance performance by Grupo Omawari and CSU-Pueblo Baile Folklórico with special musical guest Sammy Leon at 7 pm.

The food will come from beloved local vendors and restaurants. The selection will include klobase from Frank’s Meat Market; Italian sausage from Gagliano’s Market; tamales from Tortilleria Delicias; potica from Shanny’s Bessemer Bakery; and biscochitos and pizzelles from Lovely Treats. The museum invites everyone in the community to enjoy this banquet and experience the unique taste of Pueblo.

For the duration of the event the museum will offer free gallery admission to all guests as well as a 20% discount in the museum gift shop, featuring products made by local artists and Native American artisans.
