Bouvier-Lathrop House
Denver County
The two-and-one-half-story brick house, with its northwest corner tower, was designed by Robert G. Balcomb and Eugene R. Rice and built on speculation by the firm of Flower and Patterson.
The mixture of Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque, and Neo-classical stylistic elements makes the house one of the most interesting on Capitol Hill. Michel Charles Bouvier of New York owned the house from 1891 until 1921 and rented it out to a series of tenants, including Wilbur C. Lothrop, who established the public school system in Colorado.
