The St. Thomas Theological Seminary is comprised of a complex of buildings generally grouped around a quadrangle. The first building was outgrown fifteen years after its construction in 1908.

The subsequent Mediterranean Revival style buildings designed by Jules J.B. Benedict, a well known Denver architect, include exceptional brickwork with multi-colored patterned designs decorating both the interior and exterior of several buildings. Benedict apparently intended to reflect the Lombard architecture associated with northern Italy, and the resulting buildings are among the finest examples of this style in the Denver area.
